Obviously not a necessity and won't help your match performance but they are really nice in I no longer have to mess with the stock pins falling out of the trigger guard when I take the receiver out of the stock

My original 10/22 mag release pins used to be so loose that they d fall out on any field strip. These not only stay in place really well but they re easy to remove as well.
