The body/punch is CNC machined from rugged, non-marring Delrin which is already used for many firearm applications today. The latch pull loop is heavy duty, braided stainless steel wire. Both the loop and tempered steel extractor tool are affixed to an Aluminum cap that screws into the top of the tool.

The "Pistol Pal" extractor tool also works great for the new Ruger® MKIV™ and MKIV™ 22/45™ pistols, to remove the extractor for changing to an aftermarket extractor and for cleaning.

This tool made replacing the extractor on my Ruger 22/45 a snap. Well worth it to have in my tool box.

This tool is the only tool you will need when taking down your Mk. III, may look simple but that is its charm. I use it everytime I field strip my Mk. III and just recently used it and it alone to upgrade my worn out firing pin and extractor to replace them with TK parts. You cannot go wrong with having this tool in your kit.

The Gunsmither Pistol Pal tool is one great tool to have if you own a Ruger MKI, MKII, MKIII or a 22/45 22 caliber handgun. The tool is well thought out, it helps disassemble the receiver from the barrel in a flash, and is also great for removing the extractor for replacement or cleaning. Plus, it's small and therefore handy to have no matter where to take your Ruger 22 handgun. I highly recommend the tool for anyone who has a need to even clean the Ruger and of course, that is all of us shooters!

The tool worked very well for its intended purpose; the mainspring strut hook worked, and the other end allows the top end of the mainspring to be driven out without marring the finish. However, after 4 uses, the plastic tip shows much chipping.
