Steel Hammer Bushing for Mark III and 22/45 Pistols
- Magazines will slip right out
- Easier takedown and cleaning
- Can reduce failure to feeds
- Comes with colored installation instructions
This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

*** ATTN: FAQ: Will this bushing work in my Volquartsen Hammer? YES. The bushing and VQ hammer will work together. However, it can be a tight fit to get them together. Please let us know if you are experiencing trouble and we will get you a bushing that will fit into the tighter VQ hammer.

ruger disc bushing
the one for my 22/45 worked good, for my mklll not so good. IMHO I think they need to fit tighter inside the hammer, pretty loose fit. if you have problems jake in their cus service is great to work with. I have used a lot of their products and all but this one have been outstanding.

Steel Ruger Mark III & 22/45 Magazine Disconnect Bushing
I installed the bushing in my 22/45 using the video here and found it to be very easy. Now my magazines fly out of the grip and field stripping is a breeze. I would recomend this part to anyone looking to enhance their pistols function.

The product works suburbly, better than advertised in all ways. Trigger is crisper, magazines seat better and drop free, I hated this gun now I love it. My only suggestion is to review the installation instructions for possible improvement. There is a simpler method of replacing the bushing than how your instructions describe. It's not necessary to fully remove the hammer pin. You can carefully move it from right to left and stop when the hammer is free but stopping before the sear comes free, saving some tedious work. But overall the best $8 improvement I ever made to a gun. Worth 10 times that much.

Don't Think Twice!
Simply put, this should be the factory part that comes with any Mark III. Install is not bad. I watched the video once and completed the install in about 25 minutes. No more mag safety! Why it was there in the first place, I will never know.

Easy to install, works as described
I installed this in my 22/45 Lite (Mark III). This was my first time taking the gun apart beyond basic field stripping. The part went in just as easily as they made it look in the installation video, except for my model having removable grips which had to be removed to expose the pin. The gun behaves just as they describe it with this piece installed. Magazines actually pop out when you press the release button. You can fire the gun with no magazine inserted. And the act of field stripping this gun is now a bit less annoying. I haven't noticed any added issues or side effects from having this installed.

Col.
Wow I love this thing. I snap in a lot with a pistol before I load up. I could do that with the MKII and I hated that I could not do that with the MKIII--but now I can--THANK YOU. The re-assembly is not for the average guy but there are good instructions and I got it back together and it shoots really well--snaps in like it should and mags pop out. I love it.

Works as intended
While you at it, make sure to pick up speed loader too, I paid more elsewhere. I replaced bushing while upgrading with Volquartsen accurizing kit. Should have just tried the bushing first. I didn't think the kit was worth the money, the bushing is great though. As added bonus now it's easier for clip to "click" lock in place, where before I was having lot's of problems with rounds getting bent and I couldn't figure out why for some time, well it has to do with clip not locking in place and this bushing helps to do that.
