This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

Works as advertised
The magazine disconnect was horrible on my MK III 22/45, so I ordered the disconnect bushing hoping it would help. If I hadn't done the installation myself, I wouldn't believe it was the same gun. Not only did it fix the problem with having to pry the magazines out, but it also got rid of the ratcheting feel of the trigger. If you have a MK III, you need this bushing.

If you do just one mod to your 22/45...
This should be the one! Before you disassemble your Mark III buy this bushing, then disassemble, follow the directions in Jake's install video, and never have to go through the hassle of trying to get your gun back together. And as an added bonus, your magazines will fall out freely like most semi auto pistols. A must do mod from an excellent company!

This modification was very easy to perform, and I am not a gunsmith, if you can clean a gun you can install this modification. After installation the magazines almost fly out when released, and it makes cleaning and disassembly so much easier. No magazine insertion and removal procedure needed. Wonderfully engineered and so symple to follow instructions.

This item works exactly as described. I pulled my pin out too far and everything fell out so take a good look at how it is before you pull it apart. Youtube videos helped.

They should sell this piece with the gun
This is a must do upgrade. Ruger should attach a note stating the availability of this bushing. I'm sure some lawyers got involved and it's required to be the way it is stock. This can be installed in like 10 min and allows the magazine to drop out like a normal hand gun, also keeps you from feeling like you’re having to jam the magazine into the gun to get it to stay. Great quality works flawlessly.
