It seems like every time I buy a Tandemkross item, I want say it is the best thing I have done to my Ruger Mark IV. Yet again, this is another one of those times. I originally had the picatinny rail and a Vortex Venom mounted. I was quite pleased with it until a friend of mine got the Shadow Mount 2. I got one I like it a lot. The red dot is closer to the bore by at least 1/8" , which is the thickness of the Vortex mounting bracket that is no longer needed. I have not measured, but I believe the tandemkross S2 is about 1/16" lower than the picatinny rail . The stability of the red dot is better, and I no longer need to have the elevation maxed out to shoot at 10 yards. I was also able to mount the red dot farther forward which opens up my field of view, and gets the glass in front of the ejection port so there is less chance of dirt getting on it. The TK S2 is so much better than the other mounting plates because it accepts just about every red dot out there , and allows for mounting positions for the dot. You can put your S2 mount in front of the rear site and mount the red dot near the site, or forward near the ejection port. You can also remove the rear site and locate the red dot where the rear iron site was located. You also have the option of mounting it in the forward position. The appearance of the setup is much improved too. I tried to post a picture, but the website wont cooperate. Before I go, I want to mention that Tandemkross exchanged the S2 mount for my 2 year old picatinny mount and gave me a full credit on the exchange. Where do you get that kind of service anymore?

I like it! It lowers the dot and looks a lot cleaner than the factory rail.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Keeps the optic nice and low maintaining a much better height over bore compared to the stock pic rail. Excellent product.

I bought this for my Mark III SS Hunter that came with the OEM scope mount which is much bigger than I need for the Vortex Venom I had on the pistol. I wanted to lower the red dot & clean up the gun so as soon as I got the Shadow mount I removed the Ruger mount (it's going on a Mark IV SS 10" I'm installing a scope on) & installed the Shadow & also removed the open sights. The gun looks much cleaner now. Love the mount

the greatest advantage to this mount is that once it is on, you can mount almost anything to it.

I debated on buying this for about 6 months. Now that I have it I don't know how I shot the pistol without it. Well worth the money works very well.

Perfect mount for a low profile red dot

I got this to mount a Burris Fast Fire on and it works like a charm. Keep up the good work TandemKross
