The TANDEMKROSS Sentinel Captured Spring Rod for the Walther® P22® is an excellent upgrade for your Walther® pistol. The Walther® factory spring is extra long and extends past the spring guide rod. This design requires a special tool to reinstall and makes cleaning your P22® a challenge. The TANDEMKROSS stainless steel guide rod for the Walther® P22® features a captured spring, doing away with the need for any special equipment and making your firearm maintenance simple.
Because the spring is captured, the TANDEMKROSS Sentinel Spring Rod also returns the P22® slide to the same position every time, reducing up and down movement of the slide and improving accuracy.

Walther P22 Captured spring guide rod
Saw this advertised in one of my firearm magazines. It seemed like a solution to the problem of re-assembling the Walther P22. It was and at a reasonable price. It was shipped and arrived quickly and when I tried it for function it worked great.

Walther P22 Spring Rod
I have not installed it into my pistol yet, but compairing the standard and new spring is like night and day, old and up to date. The weak link to this pistol is the old spring had just a small plastic guide rod to get it back into position. The captured spring rod is an improvement that should end the problem of bent springs and bad shell ejection. Ordering this captured spring was as easy as pie and just as good as having a gunsmith looking over your shoulder. Follow the instructions and check everything twice and you should be putting jammed ejected cartriges in the past. Walther should take a look at this and sent owners a replacement part as part of good customer service. I highly recommend doing this work yourself and with the high quality captured spring in place, shoting should be fun again.

Spring
This is a great idea. I usually avoid shooting my P22 because it is a pain to clean and reassemble with the original record spring. I am puzzled that Walther did not do this themselves.

This captured guide rod is amazing! I have had flawless operation of my P-22 and the field stripping and more importantly the reassembly is a snap. This is a definite must if you own a P-22 without a captured recoil spring. This part paid for itself in reduced frustration with an otherwise great pistol. I don’t dread firing this weapon any longer. Thanks, TK!
