The TANDEMKROSS Sentinel Captured Spring Rod for the Walther® P22® is an excellent upgrade for your Walther® pistol. The Walther® factory spring is extra long and extends past the spring guide rod. This design requires a special tool to reinstall and makes cleaning your P22® a challenge. The TANDEMKROSS stainless steel guide rod for the Walther® P22® features a captured spring, doing away with the need for any special equipment and making your firearm maintenance simple.
Because the spring is captured, the TANDEMKROSS Sentinel Spring Rod also returns the P22® slide to the same position every time, reducing up and down movement of the slide and improving accuracy.

P22 captured spring rod
Installed this rod on my 2008 Walther P22. Makes take-down a breeze and cleaning less stressful than with the factory spring. Tension seems a bit more than factory rod, gun shoots better with far fewer FTF and failed ejections. Ordered P22 guide rod, received incorrect part initially. Customer service was excellent about returning the wrong part and sending the correct part at no expense to me. Highly recommend this company.

Walther® P22 "Sentinel" Captured Spring Guide Rod
I’m not sure why Walther didn’t design their guide rod spring assembly the way this Tandemkross captured spring is designed. The factory spring just slides over the rod making it nearly impossible to compress the spring for re-assembly. I highly recommend this item, it’s made well and should last the life of this pistol. My only complaint is that it took well over 3 weeks to be delivered by the USPS. Tandemkross should ship either UPS or FedEx ground. The USPS will not get any of my business in the future. There truly is a reason they are called “snail mail”.
