This retainer is machined from solid 400 series stainless steel for excellent strength and superior corrosion resistance. In addition, the length of the retainer has been increased to provide increased stability, preventing it from rotating off of the back of the guide rod.

Great keeper
I am a stickler for clean guns, and fought the OEM keeper that was a plastic gizmo, and it was showing the wear. This solved the issue, no more cheap plastic.

If theirs only one mod you do to your carbine make it this or their shock bolt buffer it'll save you a future headache bonus points if you do both

Upgrade
Considering Ruger (and most other manufacturers) try and keep mass production costs low with cheaper components, it’s very easy to upgrade these type of components that have high usage. I really appreciate the well-done installation videos and hope Tandemkross branches into upgraded components for other manufacturers (Sig and Beretta especially!).
