This retainer is machined from solid 400 series stainless steel for excellent strength and superior corrosion resistance. In addition, the length of the retainer has been increased to provide increased stability, preventing it from rotating off of the back of the guide rod.

What's Ruger's problem. They couldn't spend a few pennies more on a metal retainer? This metal retainer should be in all Ruger carbines. Thanks Tandemkross.

RECOIL SPRING RETAINER FOR RUGER® PC CARBINE
Such a small piece can make a big difference. I had two of the stock, plastic retainers break before finding this replacement. I haven't had it in my PCC for long, but it has to be stronger and sturdier than the stock version. Also, I trust Tandemkross. They stand behind their products.
