The TANDEMKROSS "Eagle's Talon" Extractor for Ruger® MK™ Series is a much needed reliability upgrade that replaces the stamped factory provided extractor.  Often the factory extractor won't maintain a secure enough hold on the spent casing as the pistol is cycling and will case stove-pipes and failures-to-eject malfunctions.  Luckily with this simple to install and affordable upgrade, you can greatly improve the reliability of your firearm!  TANDEMKROSS "Eagle's Talon" Extractor is correctly machined with a positive hook that will grab and secure each round until it needs to be ejected.  Eliminate your frustrations at the range with a much better part that will throw your spent cases far away from ever causing another failure-to-eject!

    It's a shame

It's a shame that this quality of an extractor doesn't come from the factory on a five hundred dollar target pistol.

These purchases from TK were my first, extractor,ti firing pin and rebound springs, volquartsen sear and victory trigger. All were easy to install and made an amazing improvement on a 20 year old MK2. Just started shooting rimfire bullseye and my scores have gone up dramatically, GET SOME!

    Flawless solution

Well machined and excited. Much harder than the factory extractor resulting in consistent performance. All the ejected cartridge cases now land in a little pile. :D

    Eagle Talon and other upgrades

Posted by Dewey Landrum on 5th May 2017

I was having occasional problems with failure to feeds, failure to ejects, and light strikes out of my Ruger MKIII. So I did a little research and decided to take a chance on fixing it myself. I installed the following components: Volquartsen Firearms Target Sear Part Number:3304N0151SSL1 "Eagle's Talon" Extractor Part Number:1705N0012SSL1 Steel Hammer Bushing Part Number:TK04N0002SSL1 "Fire Starter" Titanium Firing Pin Part Number:TK05N0011SSL1 LCI Replacement Insert - Black Part Number:TK04N0003BLK1 The steel hammer bushing was to get rid of the trigger-magazine interlock. Installation was simple, except for the sear. I have big fingers and parkinson's and could the sear is really slick. I had to use a pair of tweezers to hold the sear and the video is sort of iffy on the spring install. Everything else, just follow the videos. Measurements on trigger put dropped from 4 pounds 1 oz. to 1 pound 9 oz. In 250+ rounds fired after the parts replacement, there wasn't a single failure to feed or failure to eject. I did have two misfires. I believe these to be complete duds instead of misfires. I cycled the bullets through again and they still did not fire. And to be fair, the ammo was more than 20 years old. In any case, I consider this to be a successful remediation of problems with my MKIII and it is now much more reliable and less frustrating to shoot. There were no failures of any kind with ammo that purchased within the last decade.
