At a glance:
  • Allows left AND right handed charging/clearing
  • Picatinny - mounts virtually any optic
  • Fits any standard Ruger® 10/22® or Charger™
  • No gunsmithing required (uses standard screws)
The "ADVANTAGE" Charging Handle has been given a makeover, to feature a lower to bore axis, reducing the overall height of the optic to the receiver! The precision machined picatinny rail provides Ruger® 10/22® owners with a serious “Advantage”. In addition to mounting virtually any optic it also features a unique left sided charging handle that actuates but never interferes with the right sided charging handle. This allows shooters, plinkers and competitors alike, to clear jams or charge the gun without ever losing trigger and stock position.

    Advantage charging handle

I have purchased this and installed on my 10-22 and everything works great with one exception It put my red dot up a bit higher than I have been used to so it is taking some practice to get where it feel right for me.

Advantage Charging Handle & Picatinny Scope Base for Ruger 10/22

Posted by James Wineman on 5th Mar 2020

    * The order and the delivery was excellent. * The base installed easily. * I don't believe the Picatinny rail portion of the mount meets US military, 1913 specifications, but I cannot verify that. I have many Picatinny rails and my mounts did not fit on this rail well; i.e., they "rocked" which I ultimately corrected. To me this wasn't a big deal, just an annoyance. * I have a Kidd drop-in, two-stage trigger in my 10/22. I believe that based upon the geometry of the hammer engagement with the bolt, the charging handle on the left side of the rifle is almost impossible to use when the hammer is in the "uncocked" position. When the hammer is in the "cocked" position, the unit operates the bolt flawlessly. * Summary: I'm not optimistic about this unit; however, I'm going to use it in the field for a few months and then make a decision whether I should keep it or get rid of it. The concept is a great concept, but in my case I believe, but I cannot confirm that the Kidd trigger is going to cause this unit to function poorly. * The Kidd Two-State Trigger: Phenomenal! Worth the money.

    Awesome

Love this charging handle. Makes for fast and fun charging of the bolt when doing speed reloads. I have a Bushnell TRS25 mounted on the rail with ATI Strikeforce Stock. Perfect Combo.

    Advantage Review

This is a great addition to any 10/22. This allows me to rack the slide from the left and also raises the base slightly allowing me to use medium rings.

Love it! It could be a little longer to accommodate a greater variety of scopes however.

    nice upgrade

Posted by Lloyd Crothers on 12th Jul 2019

Having a PC carbine which is left charging handle and right eject I was glad to see this upgrade. Having large hands which making use of the small Ruger factory charging handle harder to use I was faced with the choice of extended charging handle or the left side charging handle. As part of the mod I switched the optics mounting ring bolts to the right side to clear the left for unrestricted access to the charging handle and it works like a dream for me. IMO if you have larger fingers this is money well spent, only thing I found is the rail is a little narrower than the factory optics rail so it took a little more torque to lock the ring base's down onto the rail, optics zero is right on target just make sure you use Loctite on the supplied receiver screws when mounting the rail
