At a glance:
  • Allows left AND right handed charging/clearing
  • Picatinny - mounts virtually any optic
  • Fits any standard Ruger® 10/22® or Charger™
  • No gunsmithing required (uses standard screws)
The "ADVANTAGE" Charging Handle has been given a makeover, to feature a lower to bore axis, reducing the overall height of the optic to the receiver! The precision machined picatinny rail provides Ruger® 10/22® owners with a serious “Advantage”. In addition to mounting virtually any optic it also features a unique left sided charging handle that actuates but never interferes with the right sided charging handle. This allows shooters, plinkers and competitors alike, to clear jams or charge the gun without ever losing trigger and stock position.

Best Invention for the Ruger 10/22

Posted by Chris on 9th Jul 2016

Before I even purchases my first 10/22, I did research on left side charging systems for them. I found the Advantage unit and ordered one along with my Takedown 10/22. This is the best, of many, upgrade I have done to my rifle. It operates perfectly and I mounted a red dot sight to the picatinny rail. I was concerned about the force exerted on the mounting screws but it turned out to be very minor. The dual rod charging system is very well balanced. I will be ordering a second unit for my next 10/22 project!

While the Advantage seems to have been designed for competition or speed shooters, I found it is an intuitive addition for left hand shooters, and a welcome alternative for right handed shooters. No matter the size and shape of the charging handle or the tension of the return spring (sub, normal or high), the Advantage operates the bolt as smoothly as using the right hand charging handle but does not interfere or restrict the bolt operation when shooting. Installation is no more difficult than any optics mount on a 10/22; however, one should use caution and not over tighten the mounting screws. Besides the left hand charging handle, the only other noticeable difference if the height of the rail; if this is a replacement optics mount, it may be slightly taller than the one it is replacing. Additionally, the length of the rail may be slightly shorter so minimum ring spacing for the intended optic should be checked. All in all, this is a well built, solid application that can only provide positive benefits.
