At a glance:
  • Eliminates pesky C-clip
  • Simplifies maintenance and disassembly
  • Polished stainless steel for smooth cycling
The Browning Buck Mark is a popular rimfire pistol for shooting sports thanks to its reliability and performance. But even a good gun can be made great!

The new Eliminator Recoil Guide Rod for Buck Mark from Striplin Custom Gunworks is an aftermarket replacement for the factory Buck Mark guide rod, eliminating the C-clip used in the factory version that can cause reliability issues in the firearm. This one piece, machined stainless steel guide rod simplifies maintenance assembly and disassembly. The guide rod is made from hardened stainless steel and is polished for smooth cycling.

The Eliminator Buck Mark Recoil Guide Rod works with all Buck Mark pistols and rifles, including pre-2000 Buck Mark firearms. This replaces the guide rod only, and uses the factory spring and buffer. Watch the installation video from Striplin Custom Gunworks above for more features and to install the guide rod into your Buck Mark firearm.

*Please Note* Due to variations in Buck Marks, some light sanding/fitting may be required.

*Fits all Buck Mark models including the Buck Mark Rifle

    Fixes a design flaw

This is something Browning should have incorporated to begin with. Didn't take a minute to file to length and bevel the edges. Just unexpected, but enhances the customization in my opinion.

    Definitely get this

Posted by EARL on 16th Mar 2020

The Buck Mark guide rod was built to save money and mine wasn't really fitted properly. Got this, both problems solved. If you've never fit a part before, it's simple. Start with a small flat, fine file. Don't improvise, use the right tool. File in one direction only, don't scrub with it. File slowly. File straight - perpendicular to the guide rod. Use reading glasses if you want, don't be proud, you want a flat surface. File once, test and see if it's enough. Repeat until you can just see daylight between the guide rod and the bolt face. End result is a slide that travels a lot easier and smoother than before you started. Take pride in your work, you just improved your Buck Mark to no end.

Easy to install and use, and worth twice the price. Wish I had thought of it...

    Good idea

Posted by Nathan on 17th Feb 2020

Great idea. Needs some refining. Had to take about 1/16 of a inch off to fit. It was a little too long. Havent had any issues with it other than that

    Recoil Spring Guide Rod

Works much better than the plastic ones that Browning sells. A bit of a finagle to get it installed. Nothing we can't handle.

    Fantastic Upgrade

Posted by Todd on 11th Feb 2020

After firing several thousand rounds through my Buckmark URX, and multiple tear downs and cleans I kept thinking there has to be an easier design than the clip that disappears and fighting with my pistol to reassemble. Now it is just use a paperclip and it is easy as pie. Took my fun-to-shoot, but I-will-suffer-for-it-later-pistol, to fun to shoot and not much more difficult than cleaning my striker-style pistols. This is one of the best upgrades along with the talon ejector that I have ever purchased from my pistol. Took a Browning design flaw and made it better.

    Guide rod

Posted by MT on 24th Dec 2019

C-clip? What c-clip? Never seen one. My theory is that the first time I cleaned it after about 700 rounds, and installed the fire starter firing pin, the thing flew off someplace. In any case, I got this, it is easier to reassemble, and it just might cycle better. Gun works perfectly in any case.

Easy to install..just watch the YouTube video. Just a little filing and use the paper clip trick .. works perfectly.. shot about 100 rounds at the range and no issues . Works as advertised and makes much easier to clean and reassemble !

Installation was easy. There was a little filing but I expected that. The item works really well.
