TANDEMKROSS "Titan" Extended Magazine Release Installation Instructions for the Browning Buck Mark

At a glance:

  • Taller, wider magazine release button - great for juniors or shooters with smaller hands
  • Includes two styles - button and paddle - perfect for customization!

The Browning Buck Mark is a popular rimfire pistol for Rimfire Challenge, Steel Challenge and other shooting sports competitions. Reaching the magazine release button, however, can be a challenge - especially for junior shooters or shooters with small hands. This can lead to slower magazine changes in competition and can even lead to unsafe conditions if a user must turn their gun in an unsafe direction to reach the release button.

The TANDEMKROSS "Titan" Extended Magazine Release for Browning Buck Mark is a simple, drop-in replacement for the factory magazine release that offers significantly more surface area and height to make magazine changes easy - an ideal upgrade for competition shooters!

The “Titan” Extended Magazine Release comes with two styles of magazine release button for the ultimate custom fit: a round button that is taller and slightly wider than the factory magazine release button and a larger, paddle style to extend the magazine release not only out and away from the gun, but also back toward the shooter. Install whichever button style works best for you!

The magazine release button and paddle are available in black or silver to compliment almost any Browning Buck Mark model. Both button and paddle options are made of aluminum for long lasting durability.

Make faster, more consistent magazine changes with the TANDEMKROSS "Titan" Extended Magazine Release for Browning Buck Mark.

*Fits all Buck Mark models including the Buck Mark Rifle

    Good, but...

I ordered this almost immediately upon getting my new Buck Mark - the factory mag release is much too small. The installation was intuitive, but I ran into a problem: the back "paddle" that engages with the spring was missing a relief cut to properly fit into the recess. I took a fine diamond file to it - I was initially annoyed by the need to remove the finish, but the factory one already had some finish damage in this area - and carefully filed a little bit at a time until it properly sank into the recess. I then put the spring and grip panel back on, and installed the "button" extension. It works fine, and I'm happy with it, but the product description says "drop-in" - they really need to update it to say "potential fit issues may occur" for future customers.

    Super Helpful

My wife has a BuckMark Stainless Plus UDX and we've always felt the mag release button has been difficult to access. I recently bought a BuckMark Contour. I ordered and installed the Titan on my brand new BuckMark Contour before I even fired my first shot through the gun and the Titan made it super easy to drop the mag. Within the first 10 rounds I accidentally ejected the mag because I hit the Titan with my left thumb. So, you just need to be conscious of that, but I'm already past it. it only happened once and I'm a few hundred rounds into it now. I'm using the black oval shaped Titan on my Contour, but we ordered another silver Titan for my wife's BuckMark, and will be using the round shaped button on her gun (as soon as we can get the friggin' grip screw out!).

I purcchased Titan extended magazine releases for my Browning Buckmark and S&W Victory. After reading the instructions it took me a total of ten minutes to install the extended magazine releases on my two pistols. Both work great!

    Competition Shooter

Like every single other product I have bought from Tandemkross, these are an excellent product. I had to choose the smaller button for my fat hands, because with the larger one, I accidentally disengaged a mag during the middle of a shooting stage, but the smaller one works great for me. Another top quality product.

    It worked out eventually

Easy install due to the Buckmark design, but has its flaws. First off, the part on the right side (non button side) was tight against the frame in the hole the end part rides in. After a lot of mashing of the button, I got that worn down to where it works. The fat non circular button worked well and thats what I went with. Changed the angle to where it fit right and I'm good with that. The circle button had the hole in it too tight for the screw. I basically had to thread it in there with the screw to try it. Doesn't matter for me because I'm using the other piece anyway so no big deal. The other downside is that it is not a solid fit inside the frame and it rattles a bit. Minor nuisances, but I got the thing to work. Button sticks out a good ways, but I don't use the thumb forward grip on a Buckmark anyway so it doesn't get in my way. Sticking out far in this case helps in mag changes because the Buckmark release button is really tucked away to begin with. It has flaws, but I think I'll like it ok despite the rattle.

Purchase this extender for my Buck Mark Hunter. Installed the extender but did not install the button. The button made the extender too long and interfered with the grip of the gun. Purchase an number 5 x 3/8 set screw to fill the screw hole. remember to use lock tight. This worked for my application.Tandemkross should supply a Number 5 x 3/8 set screw or manufacture an extender with out the button add on.

I found the extension a little to long, I have smaller hands and with my grip, after a couple of shots, the mag would fall out. I've passed along to another Buckmark shooter, to give it a try.
