This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

Lost my safety detent
First i want to say I love how my ruger mark iii stainless steel target pistol is working now that I am done putting the bushing in. The instructions were great but I accidently pulled the hammer strut too far and the safety dropped out and I lost the safety detent plunger. The pistol still worked fine without it but the safety was very loose so I wanted to fix that. I emailed ruger and they sent me the detent plunger and spring at no charge. After 5 minutes I replaced the detent and put the hammer back in and all us well. I would caution all inexperienced ruger mark iii owners like me should be very careful if the safety drops free and have something under the pistol to hold any parts that drop out.

Works as advertized
Installation was simple and straight-forward. With this bushing installed, the magazine disconnect parts can be omitted. Once done, magazines fly free of the gun instead of binding and staying in the mag well.

Must do modification for the MkIII &22/45
The bushing is top quality work, fit is perfect and makes a really good firearm even better. Also, install is not difficult at all, though I am a decent self-taught gunsmith.

steel hammer busing for Mark III
Very easy to install after watching the installation video. I pushed the pin a little too far and the sear came out...after finally getting that installed properly, it functioned great. It's very nice to remove the magazine disconnect assembly and have my new 6.8inch stainless steel MarkIII Hunter operate as it was originally intended.
