Steel Hammer Bushing for Mark III and 22/45 Pistols

At a glance:
  • Magazines will slip right out
  • Easier takedown and cleaning
  • Can reduce failure to feeds
  • Comes with colored installation instructions

This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

*** ATTN: FAQ: Will this bushing work in my Volquartsen Hammer? YES. The bushing and VQ hammer will work together. However, it can be a tight fit to get them together. Please let us know if you are experiencing trouble and we will get you a bushing that will fit into the tighter VQ hammer.

TK hammer bushing for MK III

Posted by Andy on 6th May 2021

This is the 6th one I've bought and installed. I did my 22/45, a friend liked it so much, I bought another for his, then another friend wanted one, and another, and another, and another! The bushing, paired with a Volquartsen sear, is a vast improvement on the trigger of any MK III. Fairly simple to install, and for the price, is one of the best mods possible for a MK III.

    Best single upgrade

Posted by Chris on 24th Mar 2021

If you only had 1 upgrade to do, I would say this is it. When added with a victory trigger and a target sear, turns your Ruger Mk into a beast. Just changing these 3 parts i now have one of the best trigger pulls i have owned up to date.

    Ruger MKIII Hammer Bushing

Posted by Dean Barto on 22nd Mar 2021

After taking down my Ruger MKIII to thoroughly clean it after numerous failure-to-fire incidents, I decide to get rid of the cumbersome magazine disconnect mechanism which contributes to excess friction on the hammer. I ordered the TandemKross bushing and installed it. It has helped with the issue, but the Ruger has one other issue that makes ftf a problem, and that is the chamber size allows more carbon and wax buildup that requires frequent hits with a bore brush to make sure that the cartridge seats properly.

    Hammer bushing

Posted by Logan Farrar on 13th Feb 2021

I replaced the hammer bushing on my Rugar MkIII pistol about a month ago. I watched their video on the install and the procedure was easy. I did the entire job in about 15 minutes at my kitchen counter. The most immediate difference is the magazine slides in and out. Now when you push the magazine eject button the magazine jumps out. Also, now the magazine doesn't have to be in to pull the trigger. The final and in my opinion most significant difference is the trigger pull is greatly reduced. Thank you Tandemkross

    Hammer bushing works great

Works great. Eliminated the magazine disconnect safety. Which greatly reduced trigger bar friction and therefore fixed a problem with my gun.
