Steel Hammer Bushing for Mark III and 22/45 Pistols

At a glance:
  • Magazines will slip right out
  • Easier takedown and cleaning
  • Can reduce failure to feeds
  • Comes with colored installation instructions

This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

*** ATTN: FAQ: Will this bushing work in my Volquartsen Hammer? YES. The bushing and VQ hammer will work together. However, it can be a tight fit to get them together. Please let us know if you are experiencing trouble and we will get you a bushing that will fit into the tighter VQ hammer.

TK Hammer Bushing/TK LCI filler for Ruger's 22/45

Posted by John D. on 28th Jun 2015

The bushing, which I figured would take forever, took about 5 minutes. (HINT--when you pull the grip panels to expose the through pins, stick a small allen key into the top right hand grip screw hole. It will absolutely hold the sear in place if you pull the top pin all the way out! Once reassembled, simply remove the allen key, and spring pressure takes over and the sear seats itself perfectly.)The bushing is PERFECTLY machined, drops right in, and reduces trigger pull by POUNDS. Now about the magnet trick on the pressed pin for the LCI? Mine was stuck, and stuck good. Friend of mine was able to walk it out carefully using a very small hammer, a very sharp chisel, and then the magnet. Be patient. The pin will come out eventually. Takes less than 3 minutes to put the LCI cover in place. The difference is remarkable, and the LCI dummy (non functioning) cover simply drops right in, and actually is a better fit than the factory LCI, since it does not have to swivel. A special thank you for including that very tiny allen key. Nobody has one that small in their tool box. TK videos were most helpful. I'll buy from TK again, and the provided product decal is already on my gun safe along with other favorite trademarks.

    Upgrade that 22/45

Posted by Douglas Hess on 27th Jun 2015

I now have zero failure to fires and failure to feed with 150 rounds of mixed ammo after noted upgrades. I would do it again and should have done this sooner. Items from Tandemkross: - LCI Replacement Insert - Titanium Firing Pin - Hammer Bushing for Mag Disconnect - PRO Magazine Bumper Other Company - adjustable trigger (only the trigger, no other parts) Hope Tandemkross make one of these soon.

Installed the MK II hammer bushing in my new Mark III 22/45. Works great. Magazine pops right out and field stripping is much easier. Buy this now.

    Hammer Bushing - YES!!!

Posted by lightsoutcalls on 18th Jun 2015

I installed the TK hammer bushing in tandem with a Volquartsen target sear. This combination helped reduce a sloppy, gritty trigger pull to a smooth, clean pull with about half the original required pull. I don't have a gauge to check trigger pull weight, but it is much easier to stay on target through the trigger pull. TOP NOTCH!!!

Beats the competition. This bushing has several design features that beat the competition. Wish I had known about this one first, but worth changing to.

    Junior Marksmanship Program Director

Posted by Jeff on 17th Jun 2015

I direct a marksmanship and safety training program for juniors and ladies and use 11 Ruger MkIII pistols in that training. The functioning of these pistols has been greatly improved by installation of your hammer bushing. This is especially important to novice shooters, for whom a smooth running pistol is vital. Thank you
