Steel Hammer Bushing for Mark III and 22/45 Pistols

At a glance:
  • Magazines will slip right out
  • Easier takedown and cleaning
  • Can reduce failure to feeds
  • Comes with colored installation instructions

This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

*** ATTN: FAQ: Will this bushing work in my Volquartsen Hammer? YES. The bushing and VQ hammer will work together. However, it can be a tight fit to get them together. Please let us know if you are experiencing trouble and we will get you a bushing that will fit into the tighter VQ hammer.

    Could not be happier

The first unit I received (NOTE - bought on Amazon from MilSpec Ops)was defective (ID of bushing was less than the pin by 2 thou) , but I received a replacement the next business day (over a weekend) from the vendor - superb service and the second part was perfect! Easy install, online instructions were great (google 22/45 troubleshooting if you have any reassembly issues), the mags now drop free and it will fire without a mag in place. Would have been five stars except for the originally defective unit. This is a MUST DO mod for your 22/45, it will make mag changes much easier and will allow "single shot" instruction.

    Hammer bushing for Ruger 22/45

Posted by William Toney on 9th Aug 2016

This was the first change I made. This feature is a pain and totally useless for safety. The magazine drops after this change and does not need to be put in and out of the gun to dissmatle the pistol. GREAT UPGRADE. I would give 10 stars if I could. Easy upgrade and only takes a few minutes.

It took me longer to watch the video on how to install it, than it actually took me to install it. The bushing is great.

Don't think twice about this upgrade

Posted by Mark on 2nd Aug 2016

This is an excellent upgrade to your 22/45. It is a must - you should not hesitate to install this bushing. Tandemkross is correct - If you can clean the gun you can install the bushing. There all also several good videos on YouTube that will help. My only issue was with assembling the 22/45 - This has nothing to do with the Tandemkross bushing - It's just a difficult gun to learn to assemble.

    Do this mod first

Posted by Richard Junkins on 1st Aug 2016

If you make any modification to your Ruger 22/45, this is the one to do. It's quick, easy (TK has a great video) and it's inexpensive. Field stripping anad magazine changeout are a breeze. This one small part makes a phenomenal difference in the operation of your pistol

First of all, I just want to thank Tandemkross for the great product, and wonderful customer service. This magazine disconnect bushing is the best! Now I don't have to pull on the magazine anymore, just press the release and eject the magazine. And the bonus is that the trigger pull is a lot nicer as well. Thank you again Tandemkross!!!
