Steel Hammer Bushing for Mark III and 22/45 Pistols

At a glance:
  • Magazines will slip right out
  • Easier takedown and cleaning
  • Can reduce failure to feeds
  • Comes with colored installation instructions

This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

*** ATTN: FAQ: Will this bushing work in my Volquartsen Hammer? YES. The bushing and VQ hammer will work together. However, it can be a tight fit to get them together. Please let us know if you are experiencing trouble and we will get you a bushing that will fit into the tighter VQ hammer.

    Steel Hammer Bushing

Very worth while upgrade. The magazine drops much more freely when released, eliminates the need to insert magazine when disassembling / reassembling pistol. Not a difficult install. I upgraded both my 22/45 pistols, definitely worth while.

Makes mag release so much nicer, plus disassembly and assembly is much easier as well.

I just received the bushing in the mail and installed it. It worked well and does make take down so much easier. It is one of several items purchased from TandemKross and I will likely buy more.

If you're tired of putting your mags in and out every time you disassemble your Ruger for cleaning, you need this. It's so much easier now. Installs easily.

Mag disconnect / Easy - Just follow videos

Posted by Ryan on 18th Jan 2017

This is the first mod I did to my 22/45 and I can immediately feel the difference. Makes the pistol much simpler to take down, trigger feels slightly lighter, and magazines drop/fly out now. Install took less than 10 mins. Just follow the video, don't rush, and install is a snap as well reassembling the pistol which btw really isn't that hard at all. I heard so many horror stories about reassembling. Granted, it's not nearly as simple as my Glock, but it's not difficult at all. Again, just follow the video and you'll be fine

This is a great upgrade. If you only do one upgrade to your pistol, this is the one. Well made good price and works just as advertised. Get this one and don't look back.

Magazine safeties are a mixed blessing and should be an option. There's always an issue that, if inadvertently not seated properly, the pistol is prevented from firing. The Ruger's complex field strip and re-assembly requirements are made even worse because of the magazine insertion and removal requirements during the process. These issues are resolved with the replacement bushing. The low cost and relatively simple installation is a plus.
