Steel Hammer Bushing for Mark III and 22/45 Pistols

At a glance:
  • Magazines will slip right out
  • Easier takedown and cleaning
  • Can reduce failure to feeds
  • Comes with colored installation instructions

This high quality 304 stainless steel bushing is made for high duty cycle shooting and replaces the Ruger® factory bushing allowing you to safely remove the magazine disconnect from the firearm. There are instructions on the internet showing the use of washers and other parts, but this is unreliable and unsafe! Use an actual part that is designed for the job. This bushing lets the hammer move properly and at the correct speed. You will be pleased with the fit and final result with this bushing. If you know how to clean this gun you can easily remove the disconnect. Removing the disconnect allows the magazines to fall free, allows them to seat properly and does allow the gun to fire with the magazine out for tactical competition and self-defense scenarios. Check to see if your state requires the magazine disconnect installed if the firearm is ever resold.

*** ATTN: FAQ: Will this bushing work in my Volquartsen Hammer? YES. The bushing and VQ hammer will work together. However, it can be a tight fit to get them together. Please let us know if you are experiencing trouble and we will get you a bushing that will fit into the tighter VQ hammer.

I have installed 3 of these bushings along with new sears, in 3 different 22/45's. Eliminating the magazine safety actually makes installing the new sear easier. Cleaning and disassembling the pistol is now much easier (or less annoying) and having the magazine fall free makes shooting that much more enjoyable. There is no downside to installing this part and the low cost makes it a must-change. Quality is superb and function is perfect.

This hammer bushing is the BEST thing you can put in a 22/45 Mk111. Mags drop free, easier field strip, and trigger feels better

This bushing changed my Ruger Mark III 22/45 in a pistol just as good, maybe better than the Ruger Mark IV. I recommend it and the V. Sear together. You will get several changes to your pistol that will please and thrill you!

This busing is easy to install and makes assembly and disassembly of the Mark III 's so easy now. Installing this busing made me not want to buy a Mark IV. It's that easy.

Why did I wait so long?

Posted by Nathan on 19th Nov 2017

Seriously? I don't know why I waited so long to purchase this... pistol feels like it just should have come with this part from the factory... operation of the pistol feels better. Also installed the Volquartsen sear along with the bushing and the gun runs like a finely tuned clock now. Just kicking myself for not doing this sooner.
