Tandemkross Ruger SR22 Spring Guide Rod
I installed the Tandemkross spring guide rod in a Ruger SR 22, with a 4 1/2 inch barrel. The part's design, quality of workmanship and materials, are all excellent. Installation was very easy, and with the captured spring, disassembly was just as easy. With the Tandemkross spring guide rod installed, I first shot some CCI .22 LR, copper plated, Mini Mags. The gun cycled flawlessly. This spring guide rod definitely provides a little more tension than the factory installed system, but, in using the aforementioned ammo, the gun didn t seem to mind. After the Mini Mags, I shot some bulk-packaged Federal .22 LR, lead, round nose ammunition. Here, I ran into cycling problems whenever a light load presented itself, which can happen often in bulk-packed ammunition. With these under-loaded rounds, the recoil was enough to extract the spent case, but not enough to fully cycle the slide so the next round was stripped and chambered. One might argue that the foregoing problem is due entirely to the ammunition and not the Tandemkross spring guide rod. That might be a valid argument if it wasn't for the fact that the factory installed spring guide rod handled the undercharged ammo without a problem. Therefore, I see it as a problem produced by BOTH the ammo and the Tandemkross spring guide rod just a bit too much tension. Still, I like the Tandemkross spring guide rod a lot and would recommend it, but suggest you experiment with different types of ammo to determine which works best for you.

Upgrade SR22
My wife had been having some trouble with the new Ruger SR22. She was getting misfires or half-strikes. The brand of ammunition did not seem to matter. After some research, I ordered the Tandemcross captured spring rod. It was very easy to install, and, more importantly, it almost entirely eliminated the problem. This was an excellent upgrade. Thanks!

spring rod
Received the spring rods and installed into my SR22 quite easily. I like the stainless steel rods better than the plastic ones the ruger supplies. The pistol worked well with the new rods. Thanks for offering these additions!
