GearBox Installation Instructions for the Browning Buck Mark

At a glance:

  • Upgraded sear spring lowers trigger pull weight by .5lbs or more!*
  • Installation frame houses spring for easy installation and consistent sear engagement
  • No need to experiment with DIY spring fixes - one simple drop-in replacement!

The Browning Buck Mark has a great trigger right out of the box. But if you’re like many Browning Buck Mark owners, you’ve likely researched ways to lower the gun’s trigger pull weight and adjust the feel even further.

There are many DIY solutions out there, including the well-known “Heggis Flip” or Buck Mark sear spring flip. But these solutions can be complicated to perform, provide inconsistent results and can cause potentially dangerous issues with the fire control system.

Put an end to DIY fixes with the new GearBox for Browning Buck Mark from TANDEMKROSS! The GearBox is a simple, drop-in replacement for the factory Buck Mark sear spring that makes installation easier and lightens the trigger pull weight.

The GearBox comes complete with a redesigned torsion spring housed in a polymer installation frame. The frame captures the spring for easy installation and then, once installed, works as a guide for the spring, ensuring proper alignment and consistent engagement with the sear.

Simplify your trigger upgrades and install the TANDEMKROSS GearBox today. Pair with a Browning Buck Mark “Victory” Trigger for ultimate performance!

*Individual trigger pull weight results may vary.

*Fits all Buck Mark models including the Buck Mark Rifle

After watching the installation video a couple of times I was ready to do this. As soon as I removed the bolt, I said to myself, mine looks a little different. Come to find out there's a few slight differences with a pre 2000 model. But everything went in in just a couple minutes. Trigger pull halved. Very pleased

The install is easy. Second one I installed used experience from first gun. The seat spring is held back by a post. Moving the end of the spring is difficult since it is in tension. I slid the spring closer to the edge prior to installation in the Buckmark. It made it a lot easier to release. The inverted stock spring lowers trigger pull. But lining up the spring to seat in the notch on the seat is difficult. If not in the notch the trigger may not lock back. The Gearbox centralizes the spring to align with notch on the sear. The trigger pull is reduced with use of Gearbox. Makes a good trigger better.

I have the Gearbox installed in a new Micro Field/Target version of the Buckmark. The installation went exactly as defined in the TandemKross instructions. Pull weight with the original Browning trigger still in place dropped by approximately 1# to 3-3/4# ... Will re-check once I get the new Victory trigger installed. Initially I had tried to install the Gearbox in my much older 'Slab-sider Standard' Buckmark but found the machined opening in the top of the frame was slightly too small - possibly a tolerance problem with older pistol.
