GearBox Installation Instructions for the Browning Buck Mark
At a glance:
- Upgraded sear spring lowers trigger pull weight by .5lbs or more!*
- Installation frame houses spring for easy installation and consistent sear engagement
- No need to experiment with DIY spring fixes - one simple drop-in replacement!
The Browning Buck Mark has a great trigger right out of the box. But if you’re like many Browning Buck Mark owners, you’ve likely researched ways to lower the gun’s trigger pull weight and adjust the feel even further.
There are many DIY solutions out there, including the well-known “Heggis Flip” or Buck Mark sear spring flip. But these solutions can be complicated to perform, provide inconsistent results and can cause potentially dangerous issues with the fire control system.
Put an end to DIY fixes with the new GearBox for Browning Buck Mark from TANDEMKROSS! The GearBox is a simple, drop-in replacement for the factory Buck Mark sear spring that makes installation easier and lightens the trigger pull weight.
The GearBox comes complete with a redesigned torsion spring housed in a polymer installation frame. The frame captures the spring for easy installation and then, once installed, works as a guide for the spring, ensuring proper alignment and consistent engagement with the sear.
Simplify your trigger upgrades and install the TANDEMKROSS GearBox today. Pair with a Browning Buck Mark “Victory” Trigger for ultimate performance!
*Individual trigger pull weight results may vary.
*Fits all Buck Mark models including the Buck Mark Rifle

Indispensable

This is awesome
This gear box works awesome I am still using the stock gold trigger because I like the look of it and I do notice a big difference. I didn't expect the trigger to feel this light with the stock trigger. I've had my buckmark since around 2004 so the difference in pull is very noticeable with the gearbox installed and it was easy.

Trigger pull under 2 lbs
This along with the Tandemkross trigger helped lower trigger pull from just above 4 lbs from the factory to just under 2 lbs. Highly recommend.

Easy install
Installation was easy as was reassembly. My original trigger pull was 3 lb 9 oz. New pull is 2 lb 12 Oz. A small decrease. Further decrease would be the Tk trigger with new pivot points. But I decline to use the TK trigger as I do not like the surface texture. I do wonder if I could remove the gearbox in the future and be able to reinstall. That would mean being able to 'recock' the spring leg. It would be helpful for additional instructions on how to do this.

Gearbox
Great product. Trigger pull on my Buckmark was 5 1/2 - 6lbs, inconsistent and heavy. The gearbox was very easy to install. After install I used snap caps for dry firing. I applied teflon grease to the hammer and sear and dry fired the gun with the snap caps 200 times. I removed all of the grease and now the trigger breaks every time at 2 lbs 7 ounces. Huge improvement

Gearbox
Just installed one in my buckmark along with the victory trigger what a huge difference most all the take up is gone and it went from 4.8 lb factory trigger to 3.1 lbs very smooth only issue I didn't like is the over travel screw is a very loose fit it should be tighter (Yes I have locktight) I highly recommend these parts !

maybe not necessary
I purchased this item mostly for the claims about reduced trigger pull (I really didn't care about it being faster to get in an out of the gun than the OEM sear spring). I don't have a trigger pull gauge, so I can't compare before and after trigger pull weights quantitatively. However, I shot the pistol shortly before and after installation of the gearbox and I really couldn't tell ANY difference in the fell of the trigger pull. Perhaps my gun had a lighter sear spring than most to begin with, so maybe I just didn't have much to gain from the gearbox. I will leave it in though, because it didn't hinder the gun at any rate.
