 At a Glance:
  • Titanium is 40% lighter than steel
  • Helps reduce lock time for higher accuracy
  • Non-corrosive and highly durable

The TANDEMKROSS "Fire Starter" Titanium Firing Pin for Ruger® MK™ Series is a drop in replacement for the factory firing pin. A titanium firing pin is lighter and moves faster than a heavier steel pin. This reduces lock time and allows the gun to go off faster which can help to improve accuracy. The lighter titanium pin is resistant to mushrooming and will provide repeatability with positive primer strikes. With less deformation of the casing due to the lighter weight of the firing pin it can also lead to better extraction. The stability of titanium over steel makes it an ideal choice of material when operating in extreme heat or cold conditions.

Much better than the original firing pin which unfortunately broke. The new "Fire Starter" Titanium Firing Pin has lasted thousands of rounds out of my Ruger Mark IV 22/45 and continues to look like new.

Slightly thinner than OEM so its less susceptible to binding in its groove helping prevent mis-fires. I had thought it would be a few thousanths longer but it appears to be the same length as OEM. It installed and functioned as advertised, reduced mis-fires across multiple brands of ammo.

    Peace of Mind

It seems that Ruger rushed into production the MKIV series as evidenced by various issues the latest being several posts of failures of the firing pin at the second hole which was a design change for the MKIV series. So rather than take a chance, I bought Fire Starters for my Competition and 22/45. Easy to install, work great, peace of mind.

I bought this firing pin to replace the factory part in my new Ruger MKIV stainless target pistol. factory pins are breaking and doing serious damage to the chamber mouth. easy to install, quality well designed/made part.

    Fire Starter Ti

It's too early to tell much since I've only put a couple of dozen rounds through my MkIV since I installed the Fire Starter firing pin but it installed easily and has worked fine so far. I bought it due to reports that the Ruger OEM firing pins were breaking if dry fired a lot and this was a preventive measure.

    better than original

Replaced original firing pin in my Ruger MkIV after about 4000 rounds. Original was having too many failure to fires. It always had a few with some brands of ammo. New TandemKross is wider and has a larger head than the original. At first, I was not sure it would fit. But it works great. I has been flawless after 500 rounds. It leaves a bigger impression on the rim of the brass case.
