Fire Starter Titanium Firing Pin for Ruger Mark Series
At a Glance:
- Titanium is 40% lighter than steel
- Helps reduce lock time for higher accuracy
- Non-corrosive and highly durable
The TANDEMKROSS Fire Starter Titanium Firing Pin for Ruger® Mark™ Series is a drop in replacement for the factory firing pin. A titanium firing pin is lighter and moves faster than a heavier steel pin. This reduces lock time and allows the gun to fire faster. The lighter titanium pin is resistant to mushrooming and will provide repeatability with positive primer strikes. With less deformation of the casing due to the lighter weight of the firing pin it can also lead to better extraction. The stability of titanium over steel makes it an ideal choice of material when operating in extreme heat or cold conditions.

Nice upgrade
The Tandemkross Firestarter fireing pin is a great way to upgrade your bolt. Add a TK Eagles talon extractor with it and enjoy reliable extraction and ignition. The titanium construction leads to faster lock times and improved accuracy. As always another quality part from the folks at TK

Mr.
Before installing the Fire Starter I was getting occasional failure to fires while shooting in Steel Challenge Match's. Since installing the Fire Starter not a single failure to fire. It was a good investment.

The Right Call
After trying multiple 22 pistols, I purchase a Ruger Mark III Target model as it was the most reliable by far on the market and it would handle all the different ammo I ran through it including the cheap stuff with minimal FTF / FTE. I wanted something that I could take to the range and shoot off 300 or so rounds a week without breaking the bank. After about 6 months I decided to simplify the cleaning and improve reliability by replacing the Loaded Chamber Indicator (LCI) with the TANDEMKROSS replacement LCI insert. If I didn’t clean the gun after a couple of visits to the range I noticed that the LCI would be gummed up and I didn’t want problems in the future. The Installation was straightforward and the trick of using a magnet was spot on. Reinstalled the set screw with Loctite. The black color is a very good match and unless you are looking closely you would never notice the change. At the same time I also purchased the TANDEMKROSS “Eagle’s Talon” Extractor and the “Fire Starter” Titanium Firing Pin in order to hopefully alleviate the occasional (1 every 400 / 500 rounds) FTF / FTE. Installation of both parts was very straight forward and was accomplished during regular cleaning. The installation video for the Extractor was spot on and very helpful. Since the installation of all 3 items I have shot over 2000 rounds with no FTE / FTF or miss feeds and I even went over 1000 rounds during this period without cleaning (not recommended) just to test reliability. Bottom Line: I would highly recommend incorporating all 3 items into the Ruger Mark III pistol. They are all very inexpensive and high quality parts that will improve the reliability of a very reliable pistol.

reduced FTF
Super fast shipping. Very well made part and helped my new mk3 22/45 reduce its fail to fire issue.

works great
I just bought this part because I had replaced everything else on the pistol, so I figured I would give it a try. I've had no issues since installation, and it fit perfect.

Fire Starter Titanium Firing Pin
As advertised. Easy fit, works perfectly. Will purchase more items for my 22/45 in the near future.
-
easy to install
The part is easy to install with the directions and video. Given my MKIII is new and this part is more durable than the factory part by type of material, I'll need to write back in 5 or 10 years to assert everything is fine and no FTFire.

Strong drop in replacement
My pistol league pistol (60 rounds per night) occasionally would not fire, replaced the firing pin with a new one and it was good for a couple of years then started the same tricks. Measured this one against the other with a micrometer and it was longer so the steel firing pins shrink or fatten. Shouldn't happen with this titanium one and it is lighter too so it should hit faster.

Shooter - steel challange
Another great product - A real drop in it was easy to install in my two MK III 22/45s and has had no failures in the first 1,000 rounds.
