"Fire Starter" Firing Pin Installation Instructions for the Browning Buck Mark

At a glance:

  • Made of lightweight titanium - 40% lighter weight!
  • Helps reduce lock time for improved accuracy
  • Non-corrosive and highly durable
  • Supports Buck Marks after the model year 2000

The TANDEMKROSS “Fire Starter” Titanium Firing Pin for Browning Buck Mark is a drop-in replacement for the factory firing pin. Made from lightweight, yet durable titanium, the “Fire Starter” Firing Pin moves faster than a heavier steel pin, reducing lock time and allowing the gun to go off faster, improving accuracy.

The durable titanium pin is resistant to mushrooming and can withstand both extreme cold and hot conditions, ensuring consistent positive primer strikes. The lightweight pin also results in less deformation of the casing, which can lead to better extraction.

Pair a “Fire Starter” Firing Pin with an “Eagle’s Talon” Extractor for Browning Buck Mark for the ultimate internals upgrade to reduce fail-to-fires and fail-to-ejects.

*Fits all Post 2000 Buck Mark models including the Buck Mark Rifle

Don't forget, all TANDEMKROSS products are Made in the USA and come with a LIFETIME guarantee!

I would get occasional failure to fire. After installing the TK firing pin I have yet to get a FTF. Love it.

Fire Starter Titanium firing pin for misfires and duds

Posted by Larry on 3rd Mar 2018

I have been having troubles with duds with the Federal 1200fps target ammo. The primer is dented, but the round doesn't go off. Most times, a 2nd try on the same round does fire. I shoot Bullseye competition, and it was common to get 3 or 4 of these failures per 325 round box. I installed titanium Fire Starter firing pin to see if it would help. So far, after a month of shooting Bullseye competition, I have not had a single failure to fire. The sample size is approaching a box of ammo, without a failure, so hopefully that means the problem is permanently solved. It was easy to install, and I am very happy!

My Buckmark had the original firing pin design which is not compatible with the Tandemkross design. I informed Tandemkross of the problem, and they gave me a complete refund, no hassle.

    A Major improvement

Very well machined Titanium firing pin, it provides a shure indentation of the rim casing primer. Easy installation without any tools. Need to mention that the angled side of the firing pin tip goes towards the right side of the slide facing the extractor claw. Installation time 10 minutes.
