The TANDEMKROSS "Eagle's Talon" Extractor for Smith & Wesson® M&P® 15-22 is a much-needed reliability upgrade that replaces the factory-provided M&P® 15-22 extractor. The factory extractor often can’t maintain a secure enough hold on the spent casing as the rifle is cycling, causing stove-pipes and failures-to-eject malfunctions. TANDEMKROSS "Eagle's Talon" Extractor is CNC-machined with a positive hook that will grab and secure each round until it needs to be ejected.
While the factory extractor can chip- reducing its ability to consistently extract spent casings- the “Eagle’s Talon” extractor upgrade is machined from hardened tool steel for long-term strength and durability.

Eagle's Talon Extractor
Purchased the Eagle's Talon extractor to address failure to extract and failure to eject problems that occurred 5-10 times per 100 rounds. After installing the TandemKross spring, plunger and extractor I am still getting failure to extract and failure to eject issues but the occurrences have reduced to less than 5 per 100 rounds. I have not changed the ammo so the improvement must be due to the Eagle's Talon extractor. I had my M&P 15-22 examined by a gunsmith. There are no issues with the bolt or with the overall functioning of the rifle. TandemKross support has been very responsive and sent a replacement part under warranty however there is no further improvement. I have other Tandemkross products that I am very satisfied with and I will continue to do business with TandemKross - just not thrilled with this one item.

Great product my old extractor was having issues so after shopping around I decided to try one from tandemKross and I am very pleased ran about 500 rounds of various ammo with no problems

Must-have upgrade!
I've had the same experience as others with the Eagle's Talon extractor and plunger/spring upgrade. Quite simply, it solved the annoying FTE problem I was experiencing with the M&P 15-22 stock extractor since my very first range visits. In combination with the Fire Starter firing pin, these are must-have, affordable, easy to install upgrades that take a sweet rimfire AR-trainer / tatic-kewl plinker to the next level of reliability.
