The oversized, 1911-style safety ledge, made from anodized aluminum, enhances the external factory safety, without modifying the internals of the safety mechanism. This drop-in part is easy to install and does not change the internal components of the gun. Installation of the "Cornerstone" Safety Thumb Ledge for Ruger® MKIV™ 22/45™is also a great opportunity to remove the factory ambidextrous safety, which can pinch some users' fingers while shooting.

The Ruger® MKIV™  22/45™ aluminum safety ledge offers an ideal thumb placement for a secure grip and provides consistent hand positioning and helps to control muzzle flip. This is one of the best Ruger® MKIV™  22/45™  accessories for competition shooters. Get your "Cornerstone" today and lay the foundation for a better grip!

Please note: The "Cornerstone" installation utilizes a factory spacer included in your original box. This part is referenced on Page 23 of the original Ruger® manual. If you cannot located this spacer, please contact TANDEMKROSS or Ruger® and we can assist you with locating one.

Wow, the original safety was abrasive and tough to work. This Upgrade makes me much quicker with the gun! Thank you!

Super comfortable compared to stock safety. I have large hands and stock safety was annoying to me. Another great upgrade from TK!

    Good Product

Posted by David on 12th Jan 2020

I bought this for my daughter's competition .22. It took awhile to install it because I could not get the screw out of the old safety and had to order a new screw from Ruger. Ruger sent one within a few days. While installing it, I was one of the people who ended up having to reinstall the hammer and sear. On the video, it was somewhat unclear how to reinstall the hammer system. Another video I watched recommended putting the magazine in instead of an allen wrench to hold tension on the sear (magazine safety). That worked for me. I will be taking it to the range today to see how well it works, but it seems like a solid product.

Excellent especially when combined with the 'hive' grips

Posted by Vic on 5th Jan 2020

I shot my Ruger stock, except for the sights, for a month or so and kept switching the safety on by accident. However, I also disliked the stock grips and decided to upgrade to the hive grips. With the hive grips, I didn't turn on the safety but the knuckle of my thumb rubbed uncomfortably against the safety. So I got the thumb ledge rest and am very glad I did. The grip I have on the gun now couldn't be better. It's too bad Ruger didn't design the gun with good grips and an appropriately placed safety, but Tandemkross always manages to turn good guns into great guns. FWIW, I also upgraded the trigger. I believe it's cheaper to buy the grips, the thumb rest and the trigger all together than to do so separately. I'm fairly confident once you upgrade one thing you'll want to upgrade all three.

    My Review

Installed this part early on after purchasing my Mark IV 22/45 Lite. It was defiantly a good choice. The fit and finish is top quality and installation very easy. My grip hand naturally falls right on the safety and i can take on and off with a slight flip. Once off safety my thumb lays right on top providing a steady and comfortable rest for the thumb. I highly suggest you invest in this upgrade.
