At a glance:

  • Oversized, 1911-style safety ledge
  • Enhances factory safety
  • Improves hand placement for better grip, control

Whether you’re a competitive shooter working to improve your speed and accuracy or a weekend plinker looking for better control over your pistol, a strong, proper grip is key. The Cornerstone Safety Thumb Ledge for Ruger® Mark IV™ 22/45™ from TANDEMKROSS is the ideal upgrade to boost your control!

The oversized, 1911-style safety ledge, made from anodized aluminum, enhances the external factory safety, without modifying the internals of the safety mechanism. This drop-in part is easy to install and does not change the internal components of the gun. Installation of the Cornerstone Safety Thumb Ledge for Ruger® Mark IV™ 22/45™ is also a great opportunity to remove the factory ambidextrous safety, which can pinch some users' fingers while shooting.

The Ruger® Mark IV™ 22/45™ aluminum safety ledge offers an ideal thumb placement for a secure grip and provides consistent hand positioning and helps to control muzzle flip. This is one of the best Ruger® Mark IV™ 22/45™ accessories for competition shooters. Get your Cornerstone today and lay the foundation for a better grip!

Supported Models:

    Great Addition

Purchased and installed the Cornerstone safety. Video was succinct and easy to follow. (BTW, Bill is great in the videos.) Great replacement for factory safety. Functions as expected, as all Tandem Ruger parts. Gloss black finish is fine. Only wish is that would be available in flat or parkerized black.

    Cornerstone for 22/45

This is a must have addition to your Ruger 22/45. I had a problem with nudging the safety up with my thumb and the Cornerstone remedied this as well as providing a stable location for the thumb. if you shoot steel get one. Fit and finish is superb and installation is easy.

    Thumb safety

Posted by Charlie Rollins on 25th Apr 2022

I very much like the concept (all my 1911s have larger thumb safeties). Even with my thumb riding the Cornerstone safety, it has a tendency to flip on in the middle of a course of fire. This seems to be some combination of where the safety contacts the base of my thumb and the recoil. I talked with another shooter who had the same problem but I m not sure how to fix it. Doesn t happen with the stock safety.
