TANDEMKROSS is always looking for ways to push the limits of performance and rimfire. The Advantage X (ADX) Receiver is our latest example of that ongoing mission. At SHOT Show 2025, we unveiled our receiver designed to deliver versatility, simplicity, and accessibility for either right- or left-handed userswhile retaining compatibility with a large portion of Ruger® 10/22® components.

Release Date & Pricing

While the exact release date isn't set in stone, the ADX Receiver will launch before the end of 2025. As for pricing, you can expect it to be under $300. We'll announce the final price as we get closer to launch, so stay tuned!

Features and Compatibility

The ADX Receiver supports either left- (exclusive with TANDEMKROSS parts) or right-side charging, making it one of the most versatile options on the market. By default, the ADX will be sold without a bolt or charging handle to allow customers to bring their own preference. The Advantage X is optionally available with our proprietary left-side charging handle that easily allows you to lock the bolt open as well as rack it with your support hand. This eliminates the need to break your grip with your shooting hand and keeps you ready for a fast reload or your next shots. The ADX can also accommodate right-side charging handles. It works seamlessly with factory Ruger® charging handles, the TANDEMKROSS Spartan Charging Handle, or other aftermarket options that support factory Ruger® righthand receivers. It is also compatible with both TANDEMKROSS and factory bolts. Both left and right handed charging handles reciprocate the same as in traditional receivers. The ADX features a steel insert at the locking point for lefthand charging to prevent wear on the receiver and maximize durability. The launch version of the ADX will exclusively support standard fixed barrels. It also features an integral picatinny rail and a matte black teflon infused hardcoat anodize surface finish for increased durability.

Unique Rear Cap System for Easy Maintenance

Another standout feature of the ADX Receiver is its innovative rear cap system. Unlike standard receivers, which require the compression of the recoil spring to insert or remove the bolt, the ADX massively simplifies this process:

  • Quick Disassembly: Remove the stop pin, and the entire rear cap comes off.

  • Easy Bolt & Charging Handle Removal: Once the rear cap is removed, simply pull the charging handle back, and the bolt can be easily removed through the back. To reassemble, insert the charging handle, place the bolt on top, slide the assembly forward, and replace the back cap. It’s that simple!

  • Wide Open Access: Once the cap is off, the entire interior of the receiver is accessible for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Buffer Compatibility

If you're wondering whether the ADX is compatible with aftermarket buffers, the answer is no—but for good reason. Our proprietary rear cap system eliminates the need for traditional buffers, as it is integrated into the cap. This design choice ensures that the ADX remains fully compatible with factory-style bolts and most aftermarket 10/22® bolt systems, while still allowing for a streamlined disassembly process.

Where to Buy the ADX Receiver

When the ADX officially launches, it will initially be available exclusively on TANDEMKROSS.com. Shortly after, it will become available to our dealer network. Be sure to check with your favorite firearms retailer to see when they’ll have it in stock.
